About the Speakers
Theresa Miyashita, PhD, Program Director for Applied Exercise Science, found her inspiration to be an educator while completing her bachelor’s degree in 2003, during which time she worked with the women’s basketball and women’s rowing teams as their athletic trainer. After graduation she moved to Denver, CO, and became an athletic trainer at Metropolitan State University of Denver, working with the men’s and women’s soccer teams, women’s basketball, and baseball teams. She eventually became the clinical education coordinator for the Athletic Training Education Program. While teaching full-time, she began work on a doctoral degree from Colorado State University and began to work as a content expert for the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM). Dr. Miyashita completed her doctorate at Colorado State University, her master’s in exercise and sports science from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, and her bachelor’s in athletic training from Canisius College. | |
Camille Blake, Enrollment Specialist, has been working with prospective students since 2005. She brings to work each day the attitude of going above and beyond to help her students achieve their education goals. She grew up in Ghana and Liberia, the daughter of missionaries. She returned to the US when she was 18 to attend Eastern Illinois University. She enjoys singing, music and the arts. |
