Exercise physiology and exercise science are both fields of study that focus on improving the health and wellness of individuals and athletes. Exercise physiology primarily focuses on the body’s response to physical activity. Exercise science is broader, encompassing areas such as physical education, strength and training, human performance and sports nutrition.

The Exercise Physiology concentration offers two tracks for individuals with different backgrounds in exercise science.

Track 1: You Do Not Have a Bachelor’s in Exercise Science or Equivalent

Track 1 is for students who do not hold a bachelor’s degree in exercise science or who have not attained 21 semester credit hours (or 28 quarter credit hours) in specific areas of exercise science.

Track 2: You Hold a Bachelor’s in Exercise Science or Equivalent

Track 2 is for students who have an bachelor’s degree in exercise science or who have attained 21 semester credit hours (or 28 quarter credit hours) in specific areas of exercise science.
