Dr. Michael Thomas currently serves as an Adjunct Professor of Kinesiology at Missouri State University, in Springfield, Missouri. In addition to teaching at MSU, Dr. Thomas teaches online courses for Globe University, Bryan University, and Concordia University, Chicago. Dr. Thomas is also the founder and owner of a successful fitness training company located in Springfield, Missouri.
A 1998 graduate of Missouri State University, Dr. Thomas earned his M.S. in Kinesiology at the University of Central Missouri in 2011 and his Ph.D. in Health and Human Performance from Concordia University in 2018.
Dr. Thomas’ research has focused on strength training, physiological adaptations to exercise as treatment or prevention of lifestyle related diseases (obesity, diabetes, cancer, etc.), and nutritional interventions in disease management. He is a published author and recently presented at the ACSM Mid-Central States Conference on Skeletal Muscle Hypertrophy.
