BIO
Dr. Roncone is an adjunct instructor in the doctoral program of Health and Human Performance at Concordia University, Chicago. He earned his Ph.D. (Health Education & Promotion) from Kent State University, his Master of Science (Health Science) from Slippery Rock University, and his Bachelor of Arts (Sports Management) from the University of Mount Union. Currently, Dr. Roncone is a Health & Physical Education teacher, STEAMM Academy at Hartford Middle School, Canton City School District, Canton, Ohio.
His research interests are health education and promotion, physical activity, active lifestyles, wellness education, experiential learning to enhance student learning, and at-risk behaviors among student-athletes. Dr. Roncone is currently serving a second-term on the Leadership Council for the Society of Health and Physical Educators (SHAPE) America Midwest District. He served on the Board of Directors for Orrville Area United Way (2010-2021). He has also served on the Board of Trustees for the Orrville YMCA and YMCA of Wooster. Dr. Roncone was the recipient of the 2012 OAHPERD Health Professional of the Year, the 2013 Midwest District AAHPERD Health College/University Teacher of the Year, the 2018 Midwest District SHAPE-America Meritorious Award, and three Presidential Citation Awards in 2019, 2021, & 2022 from the Midwest District-SHAPE America.
