BIO

Dr. Bridget Melton is a Professor of Exercise Science and Coaching Education. She teaches a variety of exercise science courses at the undergraduate, graduate and doctoral levels including Introduction to Exercise Science, Practical Applications of Human Movement, Principles of Personal Training, Sport Conditioning, Program Design in Physical Activity and Health, and Health Promotion and Disease Prevention, and Sport Nutrition. Dr. Melton’s research incorporated physical activity promotion. Most recent research is focusing on worksite wellness and tactical athletes. She has published 47 peer reviewed articles, contributed to 13 books and has given over 90 presentations to the states, national and international audiences. Dr. Melton is active with several state and national organizations including American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), National Association of Kinesiology in Higher Education, National Physical Activity Plan (NPAP), and the Georgia Association of Health Physical Education Recreation and Dance (GAHPERD).
