Anna Turner is in her second year as an Instructor for the Concordia University-Chicago, Exercise Science and Sports Leadership Program.
Turner graduated from Southern Illinois University with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Human Nutrition and Dietetics. She completed her Registered Dietitians certification through the ARAMARK Dietetic Internship in Kansas City. She earned her Master’s in Applied Exercise Physiology from Concordia University-Chicago and is currently completing the PhD program in Health and Human Performance. Anna is a Registered Dietitian and has gained the Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics (CSSD) certification and Certified Sports Nutritionist from the International Society of Sports Nutrition (CISSN).
Anna Turner has several years’ experience in collegiate sports nutrition programs.
Turner spent time in the University of Kansas, University of Illinois and University of Notre Dame Athletic Departments. In every role, she has worked hard to support a large athletic department with multiple high achieving and demanding teams. Turner has experience managing training tables, fueling stations, and arranging travel nutrition for teams. She also has extensive counseling and body composition testing experience along with on-the-field work such as sweat testing and managing a team’s fueling during competition.
Notable areas of interest are Eating Disorder and Disordered Eating in sport and the Female Athlete Triad. She also has a strong interest in providing easy to use nutrition information to athletes in the form of apps.
Turner joined St. Vincent Sports Performance in 2016 and manages the fueling needs of the Indianapolis Fever, Butler University Athletics and assists in the needs of the Indianapolis Colts.
Turner’s notable athletic accomplishments include: include winning the Illinois Cup in 2006, racing Half Ironman Triathlons, running a marathon and is a Category 3 cyclist. Turner is an active member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and the Collegiate and Professional Sport Dietetics Association and the International Society of Sports Nutrition. Turner, her husband, Seth Turner, and two dogs Hank and Rousey live in Indianapolis IN.
